The Only Reptile & Amphibian Zoo in Connecticut

Riverside Reptiles Education Center (RREC) is a one-of-a-kind Connecticut reptile zoo dedicated to reptiles and amphibians. RREC gives visitors a special opportunity to get up close and personal with a diverse collection of over 100 species of indigenous and exotic amphibians, reptiles, invertebrates, and freshwater fish from around the world. Our animals enjoy spacious, naturalistic enclosures that allow for normal behaviors and unique visitor observations. From Green Anacondas to King Cobras, from Box Turtles to Aldabra Giant Tortoises, from Dwarf Caimans to American Alligators, you’ll encounter them all and more at RREC!

Our indoor facility spans 13,000 square feet with an additional 4,000 square feet of outdoor (seasonal) turtle and tortoise habitat called Turtle Terrace. Open year-round, RREC welcomes everyone—from curious single explorers to large school groups, camps, and families looking for memorable experiences. We’re proud to be the only all-reptile and amphibian zoo of its kind in New England.
