Outreach Programs
Riverside Reptiles Education Center is passionate about presenting quality educational programs about reptiles, amphibians, and other fascinating creatures of the animal kingdom. We specialize in giving our audience a hands-on learning experience. All those at the show will have great opportunities to touch or look eye to eye with many captivating creatures, while at the same time learning about their natural history. Riverside Reptiles Education Center is available for schools, libraries, birthday parties, recreation and day care programs, scout troop meetings, and any other organization that would like a fun and unique educational program.

REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS
Explore the wonderful world of reptiles and amphibians! Meet various examples from these two similar, yet different groups of animals. Learn about their natural history and the importance of their conservation. You will also have a chance to pet a lizard, stare into the eyes of a huge frog, and touch a giant python!

SNAKES
Learn about these fascinating but often misunderstood reptiles. How do they locate prey? How do they eat? How big do they grow? Meet numerous species of snakes. Learn about our native species and what we can do to conserve their habitat and ensure their survival.

Living dragons
Dragons?! No, not real dragons ~ Lizards! Meet many different species of lizards: geckos that can climb glass, skinks with bright blue tongues, a legless lizard, a cousin of the Komodo Dragon, and a snake - with claws?! Meet these and many more as we venture into the realm of living dragons.

JEEPERS CREEPERS
Encounter some creepy-looking creatures. This program is a perfect “mixed bag” for birthday parties. You will see and touch a variety of reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, insects and more! Don’t worry, we won’t bite!

SNAKES OF CONNECTICUT
Connecticut is native to 14 species of snakes. Brian Kleinman (the owner of Riverside Reptiles Education Center) will present a 50-minute long slide presentation on the natural history and identification of our indigenous snake species. After the slide presentation you will meet and touch some live snakes!
